| The plight of a man and his family from Fanja |
| This gentleman from Fanja was forced to retire from the Ministry Of Electricty, because he had contracted a rare blood disorder known here as Talasimia. His condition is serious and he has a greatly reduced life expectancy. He is saddled with the care of 6 children, 5 of whom were victims of child abuse from their very own mother, before she had left them for another man. And his second wife who is now on the way, had accidentally broken her hip.
His symptoms are severe, listlessness to extreme vulnerability to lung infections and pneumonia. He needs to undergo weekly blood transfusions and a lot of medicines to control his symptoms and fight infections which is way beyond their means. He receives a pension of RO 135.00 which is not even enough to cover his existing loan at Oman Arab Bank of RO78.000/month and a car loan of RO61.000. On Top of all these, he had received a court order to be evicted by the end of December 2008 from their rented home.
Dar Al Atta had made sure that he was given proper medications anc care at the hospital, and had transferred the family to a fully furnished rented home in Samail, (6 months paid in advance worth RO900.000) to stay while their new home worth RO25,000.000 is being constructed. Clothes, monthly grocery and food rations are being given and car debt to bank of RO1400.000 was fully paid so that he would still have money for other necessities for his family.
Thus relieving this family from dispair, giving them a chance for a new life in a new environment.

| Nourishment for Hungry school children |
| Reported cases of many needy families, send their kids to school without any food nor allowance to buy anything to eat or drink, because they cannot even afford it. There are many children that sometimes wait to see if their classmates would have leftovers, so they could eat the few morsels left to appease their hunger.
It is for this very reason that Dar Al Atta has conceptualized the student program for providing nutritious meal rations so that they may be able to address the health concerns of these underprivileged children and make the most of their time at school.
